Stephen Hawking Accepts Teaching Position In Waterloo

Renound world scientist Stephen Hawking has announced that he will be setting up a post in Canada.
He has accepted a position as a research chair at Waterloo’s Perimeter Institute, which was founded by BlackBerry inventor Michael Lazaridis.
Hawking will be gracing the city of Waterloo, located in Ontario Canada for 6-week spells beginning next summer.
His new job will not effect his current role as head of the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology in Cambridge.
“The institute’s twin focus on quantum theory and gravity is very close to my heart and central to explaining the origin of the universe,” Hawking said in a statement.
“I look forward to building a growing partnership between PI and our Centre for Theoretical Cosmology, at Cambridge. Our research endeavor is global, and by combining forces I believe we will reap rich rewards.”

Good for him, hopefully his research and endeavors will make him happy at his new location. Canada needs someone with his intellect and intelligence.
God Bless

I was wondering how they would make this work. As near as I can tell, there is no way for Stephen Hawking to immigrate to Canada, because of his health problems. I was thinking maybe they would get special minister approval to bypass those requirements, but it looks like instead they made this a part time gig, so there is no need for him to immigrate. I for one, hope I have a chance to attend a lecture by him while he is in Waterloo.
