Senator Edward Kennedy Will Receive Degree From Harvard University

Senator Edward Kennedy who is in the biggest battle of his life after being diagnosed with a brain tumor will be receiving an honorary degree from Harvard University.
The ceremony will be taking place this afternoon, in which the 76 year old Senator will be joined by Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer who will be giving remarks.
He was originally supposed to receive the degree last spring, but could not attend the ceremony due to him recovering from brain surgery to remove part of a tumor.
According to a statement released by the university they are giving the degree to Kennedy because of his “lifelong commitment to public service and his tireless efforts as a champion for a range of social issues.”
Kennedy first graduated from Harvard way back in 1954 and is very grateful to be receiving the degree: “Harvard holds a very special place in the hearts of all the members of the Kennedy family, and I look forward to accepting this honor,” Kennedy said Sunday.
