China’s decision to refuse to attend the summit between it and the European Union has other countries wondering what difficulties that indicates in these uncertain economic times.

China had said they are refusing to go because of French president Nicolas Sarkozy’s unofficial visit with the Dalai Lama, which is scheduled for December 6.

Experts believe that China has decided that it has more to offer Europe than the other way around, and thus China has opted to not make any concessions.

Meanwhile, china continues to put on a happy face, claiming to politicians visiting from other countries that China’s relations with Europe were better than ever.

The consensus is that changes need to be made from both sides before relations will be favourable again.
