An FDA advisory panel have given their seal of approval to a prescription eye drug used for glaucoma to be used by people wanting longer, thicker eyelashes.

The drug, called Latisse is made by Allergan Inc, the same company who makes the very popular botox drug.

Funnily enough, the drug was only found to increase the length of eyelashes when it was being tested for use in patients with glaucoma.

The drug appears to be relatively safe, free of dangerous side effects that could limit its approval process.

According to the company, a person using the drug for eyelash growth must continue to apply it or their eyelashes will return to their previous length.
