Jazz great Freddie Hubbard Dead At 70

Jazz great Freddie Hubbard has died at the age of 70.
Hubbard was a Grammy winning trumpet player, one of the best horn players of his era.
He died at Sherman Oaks Hospital, only a month after having a heart attack.
Hubbard’s career began back in 1958, and saw him join forces with greats including Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins.
Some of his earliest recordings included the greats: “Open Sesame” and “Goin’ Up.”
“He influenced all the trumpet players that came after him,” said manager, fellow trumpeter David Weiss of the New Jazz Composers Octet.
Throughout his career, he played on more than 300 recordings, including his own albums.
