I think that one of the reasons it's hard to go out and give blood also is because sometimes the experience of giving blood isn't so great. They're usually rushed to fit everyone in, so sometimes the volunteers are not as gentle so it becomes an experience that's not fun to repeat (I think repeat donors is their biggest market). I didn't have too great an experience, so instead I help the American Red Cross through the toolbar I downloaded from www.give2network.com. I registered it to the American Red Cross so that all of my searching and shopping will give them donations. It's not blood, but it's at least a step forward.
