Ebola virus Outbreak Rocks Democratic Republic of Congo

A severe outbreak of the Ebola virus has been reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The virus has prompted countries to close off their borders while health officials try to get control of the massive outbreak, the 4th in the Congo since 1976.
Ebola is very contagious, and is characterized by vomiting, diarrhoea, and internal and external bleeding. There is no cure, and the virus is usually fatal.
So far, as many as 10 deaths have been reported from the virus, and more than 40 confirmed cases have been identified by health officials.
“We are suspending all movement of people and trade with the DRC in the province of Lunda Norte”, said Angolan Health Minister Jose Van Dunem.
