US Senate Passes Expansion to Childrens Insurance Program

(Ottawa) A huge victory for uninsured children living in America as their Senate have just approved amendments to the Childrens Health Insurance Program.
The House still needs to vote on the measure, but they are expected to pass it with flying colours.
The CHIP was established to provide health care coverage for children from low income families, and will be expanded by up to 33 billion dollars to cover up to 11 million uninsured kids.
Barack Obama promised health care for all, and this bill is a step in the right direction for sure.
Where will the money come from to pour into the program? Thank all the smokers out there, as tobacco taxes are going up!
“It is a new era,” said said Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus.
