American Idol Recap: Normund Gentle Is Not Funny
Los Angeles - From the beginning, the judges have been saying that Allison Iraheta is one to watch, and that continues after last night’s performance. Allison chose a Heart song, which is difficult anyways, and managed to sing it so well that all of the judge’s mouths were hanging open at the end. Even Simon. However, she did get some tips for improvement. Her personality seemed a little boring and when she was not singing, she was very awkward on stage. If she wants America to fall in love with her, she had better get more comfortable.
Another sensational performance was mastered by Megan Joy Corkrey. I have been a fan of hers since day one. I love her tattoos and I love that she has her own style. The judges appreciate her smokey, almost jazz-like voice and her ability to make each song she sings her own. She sang beautifully last night and looked phenomenal, too. She wore an adorable empire-wasted dress and her hair was wavy. The judges love her smile and called her a “package artist.”
An awkward performance came from Normand Gentle last night who started off on the stairs and worked the stage to an alarming degree. If nothing else, he is certainly all the comic entertainment viewers need for the evening, although he doesn’t seem to be a very good singer. Hopefully, America will end his suffering and not make him one of the Top 12.
This season has certainly been one of surprises and shockers. Last night continued that trend.
